Burglary Arrest In Pike County

Greg S. Williams - July 27, 2015
Pike County Sheriff Jimmy Thomas said Monday that a 31 year old suspect has been arrested in connection with a burglary on Oliver Road. Christopher Simpson was reportedly found in possession of numerous items taken from the property during the theft.

Thomas said two stolen pull behind trailers were located hidden in a wooded area off Highway 362 in northern Pike County and that they have also been connected to Simpson.

An RV that Simpson was living in had also been reported stolen out of Bibb County and was recovered by investigators for return to its rightful owner, Major David Neal told Barnesville Dispatch. Further evidencehas investigators working to try and link him to other thefts in and around Pike County that he may have committed.

Simpson is currently housed in the Pike County Jail and charged with burglary, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and violation of probation.

His bond is currently $29,000 and he will be going to the Bibb County Jail upon his release in regards to his violation of probation out of that county, Neal added. The probation that he is currently serving stems from prior methamphetamine and theft charges in Bibb County.
