County Votes To Increase Line Of Credit

R.N. DeVane - July 23, 2015
The Lamar County Board of Commissioners moved Tuesday to raise its tax anticipation line of credit from $3 million to $4 million dollars. The increase comes in the wake of lower than expected revenue collections.

According to Lamar County administrator Bob Zellner, only about 21 percent of this years budgeted funds have been collected so far.

I dont think this has historically ever happened in the county where weve had this kind of cash flow problem and this kind of issue with the revenues not coming in, said District 4 member Nancy Thrash.

Its a cash flow issue, Commission Chairman Charles Glass added just prior to Tuesday nights vote.
