Drugs And Handgun Discovered In Traffic Stop

Pike County Sheriff Jimmy Thomas said deputies arrested two suspects on numerous drug charges after they fled during a traffic stop Monday on Highway 19.

The incident began when a deputy stopped a Honda Civic due to the occupants not wearing a seat belt. When the driver was asked for his drivers license he fled the scene in the vehicle.

Deputies pursued the vehicle into McKinley Road and then southbound on Williamson-Zebulon Road into Zebulon. Due to the suspects� reckless driving and putting the public at risk, deputies forcibly stopped the vehicle as it re-entered Highway 19 from Williamson-Zebulon Road.

Two of the three suspects were immediately arrested as they tried to flee on foot. A third suspect is still being sought and is described as an African American male wearing a white shirt and black and white shorts.

Deputies recovered four ounces of methamphetamine and ecstasy from the vehicle along with heroin and a handgun.

The driver is identified as Shadarrian Morgan , 36 years of age, faces numerous charges including Trafficking Methamphetamine , possession of firearm by convicted felon, possession of heroin and possession of firearm during commission of a crime along with numerous traffic charges.

Jonterrious Parham, 22 years of age, from Jonesboro, was the passenger arrested. He faces the same charges as the driver minus the traffic charges.
