Internet Piracy Is A Crime

Staff - July 12, 2012
Acting on information provided by Internet communication experts, Barnesville Dispatch has obtained the IP addresses of 18 chronic login violators and is preparing legal action against the worst of these offenders.

We work hard to cover local news and its a shame that a few bad apples have shared computer script in order to circumvent the login process and access our intellectual property for free, BGN publisher Greg S. Williams said this week. These people know who they are. This is a small town and the last thing we want to do isto make public the names of the accused because some of them may be familiar to others.

Williams said the guilty parties have seven days to "cease and desist" or face criminal charges and public exposure. The very worst offender, who he described only as being "an obstinate case in northeast Lamar County",may still face criminal prosecution because of well-documented abuse, he added.
He declined further comment at this time.
